DAY 11: Awaken to Christ

by Reverend Margaret Court AO MBE, Senior Minister, Victory Life Centre

We need to stand on the truth of God’s Word and pray against deception as we look forward to the return of Jesus.

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplication, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men; For kings and all who are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence;

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God, our Saviour, Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1-4 NKJV)

Father, we thank you for our leaders and those in authority. May they have wisdom and understanding so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and truth. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

We are told to pray first of all for our leaders – our Prime Minister and all those in authority – and to give thanks for all men.

Jesus gave us a clear warning that – Deception – would emerge worldwide in the last days. We need to ask and pray against it. Jesus said: “Take heed no man deceive you” (Matthew 24:4).

There is an onslaught of deception attacking our culture. Progressive thinking is affecting every part of society; doing away with the truth. A wrong is becoming a right; a right becoming a wrong. It’s in our politics, our schools, TV and in all forms of media.

‘Deception’ means to wander off course. Even Christians once tuned and aligned with God’s Word have walked away from the truth. We see this with gay marriage, euthanasia, abortion etc.. Every believer will be faced with this challenge as the world gets darker. But God will not disappoint His people.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and daughters shall prophesy, Your young men will see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on my menservants and on my maidservants I will pour out my Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy” (Acts 2:17-18 NKJV).

A lost society will try to morally alter many long-held Bible-based beliefs. We as God’s people, are to hold onto our position with confidence, to pray and stand on the truth of God’s Word, that God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5). That’s why prayer, faith, intimacy, repentance, fasting are important. We are Kingdom people; we are not to be deceived. We are to walk in faith and prayer. The church re-aligns the Nation. We cannot separate church and state. As Christians we carry His Presence.

We can pray for God’s people to be in a place of authority and leadership; to rise up to another level; to be leaders in our Nation; to be a voice of love and righteousness.

Father, Your Word says “when the righteous rule the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, people mourn”
 (Proverbs 29:2).

We can pray for the Nation to awaken to righteous and “sin not” (1 Corinthians 15:34). When we awaken to righteousness, we shall not be deceived because we are brought into that place of authority that Adam and Eve had before the fall; they gave the authority of dominion to Satan. But God through His Son, Christ Jesus, gave it back to us to bring His Kingdom to earth.

We thank you Father that “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” [Say the Lord’s Prayer] In Jesus Name. Amen.

As His church we are to awaken to Christ and what he has already given us. He fulfilled everything for us at the cross for His Church to walk in it now.

The Word, the Bible, changes Nations and marriages and builds, heals, saves and restores. This Nation is but a drop in the bucket to God.

He is the air we breathe;
He is the beauty that we see;
He is the Great ‘I AM’;
He is our very being, as we allow the Holy Spirit to hover over us and perform His Word.

The Church is to be a voice of righteousness and love to a lost and dying world (see John 3:16). May the Holy Spirit awaken us to pull down the blindness over people’s minds and eyes to receive the light of the glorious Gospel (see Ephesians 1:17-18).

I thank you Father that we bind up the spirit of deception and that all people in our Nation be loosed from it in the Name of Jesus (see Matt 18:18).

We thank you Father for the protection of marriage and family. Marriage is a covenant with God. May restoration, healing, forgiveness be the center of marriage; may You, Jesus, be lifted up; may our Judeo-Christian heritage be protected, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
