21 Days of Prayer for Life

21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Life in 2025!

The start of the year means it is time to pray about life (the unborn). 21 days of prayer and fasting for life began on Sunday, 19 January, and ran until Saturday, 8 February.

The start of the year is a most fitting time to consider life’s beginning. Sadly, in Australia alone, around 90,000 unborn babies lose their lives to abortion every year.

Watch below as Ann Browne from Love Australia introduces 21 days of prayer and fasting for life and briefly discusses their importance and how you can be involved.

Launch of 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Life 2025: Wednesday 15 January

To anticipate this important and vital time of prayer and fasting, the Canberra Declaration held a Zoom prayer meeting on Wednesday night (15 January) to mark out these 21 days and bring them before God’s throne of grace.

Wednesday night was special in another way. We were delighted that Jodie Pickard, the founder of Love Australia, joined us on Zoom as we launched this nationwide prayer call and dedicated it to the Lord!

We are very grateful that Jodie made herself available to help us prepare and position ourselves to enter God’s heart for the unborn. Watch the official launch in the video below!

Receive Daily Devotionals for These 21 Days

Love Australia is releasing 21 devotionals to help us intercede before God for the unborn. One devotional will be made available each morning.

There are two ways you can read these devotionals.

The first to have these devotionals directly delivered to your email inbox. If you’d prefer this option, simply email the word ‘prayer’ to info@loveaustralia.org.au, and you will be added to the mailing list.

The second way is to read them on the Daily Declaration. If you are already subscribed to the Daily Declaration, then you will receive a link to the devotional every morning in that email. If you’d like to sign up for the Daily Declaration, please do so by clicking the green button below!

(Please note, this will sign you up to receive emails with each day’s news articles, not just the devotionals.)

You can also access the devotionals by going to the dedicated 21 days of prayer and fasting for life Daily Declaration page here!

Zoom Prayer Meetings

During these 21 days, the Canberra Declaration dedicated each of our weekly Zoom prayer meetings (Sunday, Monday and Wednesday nights) to the unborn and the tragedy of abortion. Join us by using the regular Zoom login.

But during the last seven days, we significantly ramped up our prayer efforts. From Sunday, 2 February, to Saturday, 8 February, we held a Zoom prayer meeting every night at the usual time of 8 PM (AEDT).

We planned to do nightly Zoom prayer meetings for 21 nights in a row. But with prayer and fasting for a federal election coming up, we realised that we needed to pace ourselves for the prayer battles ahead. The federal election is likely in either March, April, or May of this year.

Please consider what time you can set aside to join believers across the nation in praying for the unborn. There is tremendous value in private prayer behind the “closed door”. Jesus promises that God “will reward you” for this kind of private prayer (Matthew 6:6).

But there is also tremendous value and encouragement in joining with other believers (Hebrew 10:25). God loves it when His children come together in unity, agreement and purpose!

Lastly, Ann Browne has also written a deeply moving article introducing these 21 days and giving some fascinating background to them. She recalls a time when prayer for a couple who decided to have an abortion changed their minds at the last minute. Read Ann’s article on the Daily Declaration here!

A Hugely Successful Prayer Campaign!

We are absolutely thrilled with the 21 days of prayer and fasting campaign for the unborn!

We thank you, our phenomenal prayer warriors, for upholding the smallest of human beings taken by abortion before God’s throne. Thank you for your prayers, your worship, your support and your enthusiasm for this vital life cause.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

As Walter Wink famously said, “History belongs to the intercessors.” Please watch the short 6-minute video below as I (Warwick) give a personal message of thanks and encouragement, as well as some important and exciting updates! Watch the video to see young father Kurt Mahlburg speak at the Adelaide Walk for Life!

We have never seen so many pro-life victories happen so quickly in the past 50 years. In just a couple of weeks, we have seen President Trump issue executive orders defining life as beginning at conception, defund Planned Parenthood, release pro-life intercessors from jail, give a video speech at the March for Life in Washington, and so much more.

So, too, Vice-President JD Vance said at the Washington DC March for Life, “For over a half-century, this March… is the single largest gathering in the world to celebrate our movement, the victories we’ve fought so hard for, and yes, the victories yet to come.”

America leads the world – for better or worse. Thankfully – and all glory to God – the pro-life movement is seeing incredible victories, particularly in the USA, but with significant global reverberations. All glory to God!

As you can see in Warwick’s video above, the Love Adelaide Walk for Life, held on the last day of our 21 Days for Life campaign, was an incredible success!

The walk even made Adelaide’s Channel 7 News! Even more amazingly, it was presented in a very positive way – which is very unusual for mainstream media. Amazing!

Once again, thank you for your prayers for this walk and all the walks and marches for life across Australia this year!

Yours for the preciousness of every life,

Samuel Hartwich & Warwick Marsh
